Missing woman found chained in a storage container

Deputies in South Carolina have found a missing woman alive, chained up inside a storage container.
Kala Brown and her boyfriend Charles Carver were last seen in August in Anderson, South Carolina. Two months later and more than 50 miles away, deputies found Brown alive inside a medal container on a 100-acre property in Woodruff, South Carolina.
“Chained up like a dog,” said Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright.

Deputies spent hours searching the property Thursday and found Carver’s vehicle, but there is no sign of him. Sheriff Wright said Todd Kohlhepp, a registered sex offender following a 1987 kidnapping conviction in Arizona was arrested in connection with the incident.
Sheriff Wright said Brown told investigators there could possibly be four bodies on the property.
“We’re trying to make sure that we don’t have a serial killer on our hands. That very possibly could be what we have. So we’ll know once we find some evidence we’re looking for or not,” said Sheriff Wright.

Investigators said good police work led them to the property and they found Brown after hearing her banging and screaming from inside the container. Sheriff Wright said Brown is doing as well as she can be.
Investigators worked well into the night Thursday, looking for Charles Carver and other victims and said they would be back out to search Friday morning.
