Timeline Update...Newtown Massacre














7:53 p.m.: President Obama Will Visit Sandy Hook Families.
7:50 p.m.: The father of 20-year-old Adam Lanza issued a statement Saturday, according to the AP: ”Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured. Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are. We are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why. We have cooperated fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired.”
 6:12 p.m.: Rockingham County Sheriff Downing reads a statement from the Champion family, relatives of the Lanza family. “The family of Nancy Lanza share the grief of a community and the nation of we struggle to comprehend the tremendous loss that we all share our hearts and prayers are with those who share in this loss the families teachers staff and students of Sandy Brook Elementary school the first responders and to all others touched by this tragedy on behalf of Nancy’s mother and siblings we reach out to the community of Newtown and express our heartfelt sorrow for the incomprehensible and profound innocence that has affected so many the family requests that you respect their privacy during this time of anguish and loss.”
5:38 p.m.: Emilie Parker Memorial Fund has been set up at facebook.com/EmilieParkerFund.
 5:30 p.m.: Father of Emilie Parker delivers remarks: ”First of all, I’d really like to offer our deepest condolences to all the families who were directly affected this shooting. It’s a horrific tragedy, and we wanted everybody to know that our hearts and our prayers go out to them. This includes the family of the shooter.”


 
5:19 p.m.: The gunman who massacred 20 children in a Connecticut elementary school riddled them with bullets, shooting some of them as many as 11 times, the medical examiner said today.
5:11 p.m.: Relatives of the Lanza family are expected to hold a press conference at 6 p.m. outside the Kingston (NH) Police Department.
