  12. The rock is ok, he's watching criminal minds. He just watched America's got talent. He loves that stuff.

Took the twins to karate. They were brilliant. That Sammy is a real comedian. He made me laugh so hard and I was in a bit of a downer over Nana.

Nana went to bed early, she was tired. The doctor told us today that he wants Nana on dialysis because her kidney function is so low. She refused adamantly. She wants no help whatsoever. She is very weak but I cannot convince her to do it. She will do this her own way. I have to accept it.
She wants to die at home.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We'll have that blog up and running soon.

I can't wait to hear about the next meeting. It may get uglier before it gets better. People who have had it easy tend to be selfish
and demanding. They certainly don't want to have to work hard for a living.

  23. Anonymous10:16:00 PM

Jeannie's put up a lot of recipes and they all are so good and dad jost love them, he thinks she puts them up for him...Brian will whip his musty butt about his Jeannie.Hahaa

    Hi Lina...feeling better???

    ReplyDelete
  24. How was the lemon cake? I hope it turned out well. I know the cookie bars are good. I'll get another sugarless recipe so you can indulge too.Looking for good sugarless recipes has taken me to some interesting places and even out of the country.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Lina, have you ever used our 'Cook Anything' gimmick in the sidebar of the blog? It would work well for a single person. You just tell it what yyou want to cook and tell it what ingredients you have at home and it comes up with a delicious recipe every time.

  26. Anonymous10:21:00 PM

It's going to get nasty and a few heads may get bruised, I was sure it was getting better. I can't wait until I get home tomorrow...Gil has a PC in his office and I think I can log on and do it in drafts from there.
I used the one at the hotel when the lights was out to tell you and Heidi how I was doing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anonymous10:25:00 PM

The Lemon cake was reaaly out of this world and it's gone now, I told you I had to make 2...I do cakes/cookies/pies with refine sugar just not as much...Oh yes PIC, I know how you love to travel.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I feel a little better today. :)

I am actually trying that little cook anything function and I am finding it quite useful.

    Lina

  29. That should be an exciting meeting. I know you wouldn't miss it for the world. You sure know how to get things moving and shaking. You know it would have come about anyway. Dad needed to retire but I bet he would have hung in there for another 4/5 years.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Now he will have more time to savor your cooking and my recipes.

  31. Anonymous10:32:00 PM

Sweetie you make me go back in time, there are some new people in the office and I asked them do they visit us and told them about the food gadget anf Gi's secretary laughed so loud and told them to visit because they had to make Gil a foil crutch for his dangle becuse I broke it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Did they really make a crutch?? I think you just wore it out. It's just a little fatigued and out of gas.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous10:38:00 PM

I am a good wife and I deserves better than others using up my man and since I was lucky enough to find a man...I told dad I'll be damn if I stay married and sleep along...He knew I meant business and he know I'm not afraid of him.

  34. Weirdest thing happened to me girls.

I just moved here so I dont know alot of people, just a couple of girlfriends. I work alot too so I don't go out much and I HATE Bars.

Anyway, I got this very expensive bouquet of flowers but not card.

    Weird.

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  35. If they did make a crutch I'm sure Gil would laugh his head off. I like that he is not up tight and prudish about such things.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous10:39:00 PM

Gil brought that damn thing home with him and asked what in the devil have I been talking about and I just laughed my ass off.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous10:41:00 PM

Iina I'm so glad you like the food gadget...it taught me how to make the beat brisket without being tough and stringy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well Lina, It looks like you have a secret admirer. That's sweet. Who knows what may come of that.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous10:46:00 PM

Lina... girl I bet they was from you know who...he may have been watching you all the time and was glad you fell...I bet you will get some more bouquets.

  40. yes as long as he is normal and not some nut. Hard to tell the difference in Hollyweird

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. We'll be going to the lake at last this weekend. A lot of the family will be up there, even Phil (P's brother who goes to tropical places all winter because he hates the snow). He just got back from his travels which included British Guiana.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous10:49:00 PM

When you are walking, look behind you, hon he may just be there.
Weird,no, if it's him he may be ready for a real woman.

    ReplyDelete
  43. He says he didn't like Briish Guiana because it was quite dangerous. He won't go again.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well it was a nice gesture I will say that much. :)

Made my day today so I'll see what happens

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous10:53:00 PM

Oh I'm glad you will be able to go and don't rock the boat to much ...remember the coast.
I bet Phil will have some great stories to tell and Pete will barbeque. Are you spending a night there?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Be very careful Lina. A single girl, alone, is vulnerable. You're right about Hollyweird.

Have you considered getting a roomate??

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous10:53:00 PM

Is Jaye/Pete's cabin close to where you dock your boat???

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well i like to live on my own because I like having that space to myself. I am very careful, because I have heard of some nasty things happening so I will try to call the flower shop tomorrow and ask some questions...

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous10:56:00 PM

Yes, Lina all jokes aside you needs a roomie.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Its probably a good idea. I have some girlfriends that I like alot an that I already know well...

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can't spend the night there. I can't leave Nana alone and she won't allow anyone else to look after her.

We have not been able to go anywhere for a holiday in a few years because she would be terrified on her own and she won't accept anyone else. It has been hard on me but far more stressful for Brian.
The doctor asked Nana today if she would consider a very highly recommended rest home with 24 hour care. She got angry and very agitated.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous11:02:00 PM

    Jeannie
How's it going I haven't forgot you just been business and you will hear from me soon. Just dropped in to say hello and to have a nice night.
Hey Nee I heard about what you did and I am going to tell Jeannie this week. Always your friend Jeannie. Night all
    Nan

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous11:05:00 PM

If Nana had said yes, you wouldn't let her go , because you wouldn't know what kind of care she was getting. I for one know how hard you have had it in the last few years...Jeannie you are a very strong woman.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous11:07:00 PM

Nan you have a very big mouth but sometime I love your big mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous11:08:00 PM

Lina...I think that would be a great idea, with a roomie you can always get a larger place.

    ReplyDelete
  56. We can take the boat right up to where they have their place. We park it there sometimes and they come down to it and swim off the deck. Sometimes we go up to their place for a barbeque. The boys like playing on the boat; we have a tv with some video games. They go down there and play and I have some toys and games there for them. When they have friends from school up there for the weekend, all the kids go and play on the boat. Pete just sits on deck and drinks a beer and waits for them

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hey Nan, great to hear from you. You know you can tell me anything, especially if it is about your aunt...HA!Have a good night. I look forward to hearing from you....JEannie.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Anonymous11:12:00 PM

I bet Nana is telling you a lot about her love for the Major and what a great time they had together. I bet Nana get a far-away look and a smile on her face.
    Ain't love grand.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You're right Nee, Nana talks about the past more and more these days. She always talks about her war experiences. If you remember she was a general's driver and later she drove ambulances. She is starting to live more in the past than the present.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous11:17:00 PM

Now you and Nan is teaming up on me again, I waht to know what she has in this big envelop, I can't see what's inside because she has it sealed.

    ReplyDelete
  61. They both came from privileged backgrounds but they were tough soldiers when it was called for.

Lina, I understand if you need to have your own space. I am like that.I am an only child and am used to a certain level of privacy. Also, most artists like to work alone.I wouldn't care for a roomie, but it is a good safety precaution and as Nee says you could afford a much larger apartment if you were sharing expenses.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous11:24:00 PM

Sometmes the past is better than the present...I guess the doctor felt it would be better if she was in a home... Nana can do things on her own, she still do her on shopping, she just needs help because she has arthritis, not many 60/70 year olds can do for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I agree about a roomie and it is likely I will get one. Then we can afford a bigger apartment and stay by the beach.

    :)

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous11:32:00 PM

I had my own place when I met my man but I don't think I would live alone now the ways things are.
Lina, I do understand abouy your own space.
I come from a family of 9 kids and 4 of them is old enough to be my mama/daddy.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Nana won't be able to shop for many more weeks. She will be sad about that. But with a very bad aneurysm in her heart, and her kidneys in faiure, and a tumor on her lungs, she is much too weak and dizzy to go out much more. She is starting to stumble a lot.

Boy she is one tough cookie. I have to admire her strength.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous11:38:00 PM

Lina...did you know Jeannie was an artist and worked for newspapers and magazines?
Jeannie is a very beautiful lady and a class act.
She post one of her drawing with her standing beside it, it was beautiful...oh yes see design the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous11:44:00 PM

I admire her she's a fighter and a woman with a strong will.
Hold her close and give her all the love you can muster up.
Jeannie you know you have strength like Nana.
Dad is 82 now and who know how long he has...but you know they may out-live us.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous11:48:00 PM

Talking about age my daddy would be 94 and mama 90.
Is it true about old folks kids stairs don't go all the way to the top...Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  69. You will feel like I do when dad's health starts to fail. You want to make them as happy as you can, carry all their burdens and worries and make the most of the time you have left to make as many memories as you can.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I sure do ramble on. Sorry folks. I guess it's checkout time for me. I have to make my rounds; check Nana, tuck the Rock in and let Maxy out. The rabbits are out tonight and you know what that means to Maxy.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anonymous11:55:00 PM

I know you speak the truth about dad, it warms my heart to see him blundering around the kitchen getting into stuff and saying Gilly did it. Dad stay home more now and sis come to visit him. Sis stay here more than she stay home, I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anonymous12:01:00 AM

Well you have to take care of things.
I know Maxy wants to go outside to check on the rabbits.
Take care dear friend and know you and your love ones are in our prayers.
