"Reflection"

I can't shrink into greatness. When I reflect on the things I've done and not done, there is a tendency to beat up on myself. I criticize, I judge, and condemn myself much more severely than the world could or would. In response to this self-flagellation, I shrink away from doing or attempting to do. I cannot shrink into my greatness ! I must use my past as a road map, a key, that unlocks my capabilities by giving me understanding of my frailties. The past simply tells me what I can do, cannot do, what I need to work on or work out.
I must know every intricate detail of myself. My past is like an X-ray machine. Once I see what is there, don't shrink, shine ! Now I know, which means I can take appopraiate steps toward healing and correction. I won't fight with myself! I will accept who I am now and all I've done. Then I will give myself a great big hug and kiss. I've been through a lot. A little tenderness could be what I need right now.
I don't succeed at everything I try, and that's okay. What's important is that I keep trying. I am a good person, trying to do the best I can. I will remember this and be as nice to myself as I try to be to others. But hey, that's just me.
Kicking back having fun and keeping it real:

  4. Brian is a teddy bear today. Nana had a rough time. The doctor had to pull out pieces of tooth deep in her jawbone. She is in a bit of pain tonight. She can only eat mush right now and it has made her very cranky (of course).

Sounds like you guys have a sea of papers to wade through.

  8. We are having incredible weather here.Just love it.
Out in BC they still have snow.BC is another province in Canada.
Have to get Nana a mother's day present. I can't take her out to dinner, I brought her flowers yesterday and she threw them out. Said she was allergic to them. That narrows the field vis-a-vis gifts.

I'm amazed no one had made contingency plans for when Dad retired.I mean he is over eighty years old. He ain't superman.

  14. They just found a way to contain that oil spill. They will drop a big cylinder over the well and then try to pump the oil out of the cylinder

Dad's 82 and I guess they had the idea that Gil/Shirley/Leon was going to stuck with it.
Gil's firm deals with the large corporations/casinos/hotels and the film companies.
They are capable of doing it but some of them will have to relocate

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'll try and get more info on the cylinder and do a post.

I bought my daughter a mother's day gift. I thought it was about time I told her how much I appreciate what a good mother she is. I'll send something to my other daughters too.

  39. Pete is the best barbeque cook. We always trap the poor guy into cooking the meat. His brother Phil is a good cook too.Phil usually turns up back in Canada in May sometime . He spends every winter either in Texas or Florida where he has friends or he goes somewhere exotic. He can't stand the cold.

    ReplyDelete

Our men do the barbeque and we fix the fish and Chris will cook it and boy can he cook, I think Chris do most of the cooking in his house.
