Paula Abdul : Judge On New Show 'Got To Dance'

Have you missed the effervescent and eternally positive musing of Paula Abdul on primetime TV? Well, the former 'American Idol' judge has landed a new job at CBS as the lead judge and mentor on 'Got To Dance,' according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The show is based on the British hit and will feature dancers of all ages with performances ranging "from ballroom to break dance, bhangra to ballet, and tap to tango." On the UK version, acts compete in front of a panel of judges and viewers vote for their favorites.
CBS will make the news offcial on Monday. Adbul is also expected to be an excutive producer on the series, which is being developed by ShineReveille.
'Got to dance' will likely air mid-season, and as the Reporter notes, that would pit Abdul directly against both the next season of 'Idol' and Simon Cowell's new show, 'The X-Factor.'
Abdul used Twitter to announce her departure from 'Idol' last August. In a series of tweets, Adbul said: With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to #IDOL."

Abdul went on to say that she would "miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of the show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon." In another tweet, Adbul said that she wanted to express "how much I appreciate the undying sipport and enormous love that you have showered upon me...I do without any doubt have the 'BEST' fans in the entire world and I love you all."
With 'Got to Dance," Abdul will get the kind of nurturing she craves.
CBS now joins the other three (3) major networks in having a dance related show - The most popular being ABC's Dancing With The Stars' and Fox's So You Think You Can Dance,' NBC's 'America's Got Talent,' while not strictly a dance show, includes plenty of hoofing action.
My spin on the new show: Paula , you have a lot of competition to go against and it will be hard being the new kid on the block, but we do wish you well . Just wondering if Paula will wear her bells and sometime out-landish out-fits...a lot of viewers tuned in to see what Paula would wear next...Good luck Paula!

  1. Hi PIC, I sure hope Paula has a hit on her hands. I always kind of liked her wackiness.

I am watching the finale of Dancing wWth the Stars.
It was an exhausting day and it was hot as an oven. But we had a nice lunch out. Toronto is a beautiful city.

Glad you made it okay and can relax a little now.
How's Brian...frisky I know. Is Nana on her job that would be a yes?
I'm pulling for Paula to do well, I always tuned in to see what she was wearing and was she high... I don't think Randy/Ellen can pull it off after simon leaves.

Yes it's hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement. I baked a little, a pie /cake don't last here but a day.
Why don't you poach you an egg on toast?

I made some bread and put it up to rise and told Mamie to watch it for me while I go see what the fools was doing, they are just sitting round like a bunch of stupid idiots.

    Can you see me???

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree with you about Randy and Ellen. They must have someone else lined up for Simon's place.

Brian is frisky. While I was gardening yesterday he came to the back door naked and did his little dance for me. Fortunately we have a rather private yard.Nana is in fighting form.

I am a little sick from the testing. After all, they test me with substances that make me sick. They have to find out everything that is toxic to me because I could have an exposure to an untested substance and possibly go into a coma or die. I have frequently passed out from an exposure to something we didn't know about.

  10. Yes I am not having a problem seeing you and yes I am having triplets.I fall for the jiggle dance every time.

Sweetie , I hope you feel better soon...I think the best thing to do is for you to get some rest now, I know how tired tests can make you with all the poking/prodding the doctors do.

Maybe you could curl up with a good book or TV show and just pinch the "ROCK" you know where.

I just knew the Rock was going to get you good...Name them cupcake/sassy and giggles.

I am glad your yard is semi-private but I don't think our men care it just come natural to them to be free.

  14. I'm fine honey. I will sleep in tomorrow.I'd love some of your homemade bread.

The rock is dozing at the moment. If I went and pinched it he would jump six feet in the air.But it is tempting. I love to make him jump.

    Sweetie , we are lucky.

I watched CSI:M last night and couldn't make heads or tails about the shit they was doing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes they saw some fireworks. They are so cute. They are very loving little boys.I got home in time to take them to Karate.

They are talking on the news about Bird island. There is oil all around it and people are working feverishly to save all those birds.

    ReplyDelete
  19. They are also showing video of Louisiana's marshlands. There is thick brown goo all over the marsh grasses.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The oil coming out of the pipe now is black. They think that the black stuff is more polluting.

Mr Obama got mad at BP today and told them to get off their asses.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I watched the Hurt Locker last night. Have you seen it??

    ReplyDelete
  22. It wasn't as good as I had heard.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous10:18:00 PM

No I haven't seen it yet, it must be really good the stores can't keep in stocked, I'm on the list, I should have it by the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Did you see the big hail storm ?? There are at least thirt/forty videos of it on Youtube.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous10:20:00 PM

It will be a long time before we recover from this if ever, the black goo is spreading like wildfire.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous10:23:00 PM

I don't know what's Obama problem is...thr rig blew up April 20 and that was a month ago and the public knew how bad it was , why didn't he tell his people to get off their asses and look into this crap...

    ReplyDelete
  27. They have been testing bottled water in Canada and have found several species of bacteria, some of which are bad for people in many brands. They have not named the brands yet but we know they are sold all over the world.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous10:27:00 PM

Yes I seen the video of the hail.
If you put a video on here I watch it.
Hurricane season starts June 1st and we are in for a rough time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Obama got a group of scientists and engineers together in the US and they are working on it but he still expects BP to bring something to the table.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous10:30:00 PM

We have a water filter on our water system, they are worth the cost.
They found that one company here was just using plain tap water.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I do not envy your hurricane season. It must be a worry for you. You never know how severe it is going to get. It could be mild or deadly. Lately you have been having more of the deadly variety.I pity New Orleans, first they are devastated by a hurricane, now they are covered in oil slick and it's hurricane season again. The hurricanes may spread that oil even further.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anonymous10:36:00 PM

BP is just out there for the money and we have seen BP's best...there are a lot of people out there that has ideas, how about Kevin Costner and his brother and there is a lot more. It's so sad to see the people begging for help.
To me Obama is moving to slow, he should have been on there asses from the git-go.
People are losing their jobs left and right and now this not only affects the fishermen but everyone that depends on them for food. A lot of seafood business will close because of this ...then what???

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous10:39:00 PM

All we get here in north Louisiana is the aftermath of the hurricanes like violent storms/winds.Tornadoes are what we fear most.
South Lousiana is quite a distance from me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The only thing we worry about in summer is whether the farmers will get enough rain. We usually have kind of dry summers. Peter and the boys had their first swim in the lake on the weekend but they said it was stll cold. It will take another week or two for it to get rid of that chill.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous10:40:00 PM

We are feeling the pinch of the seafood prices they have jumped about 30/40 % in a month.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I know you have been having an unusually bad tornado season. One of the tornadoes( It may have been in Texas)picked up a truck off the road with a man and woman in it and set it down in a field miles away. Unfortunately the people inside were dead when it was found.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous10:46:00 PM

We was planning on going down to N.O. to the beach and take my babies crabbing, I was so loking forward to seeing Gilly run from them and now Florida beaches is out also.

I know you can't wait to get in the water, and the Rock is ready for a swim and maybe some skinny-dipping.

    ReplyDelete
  38. What is Randy Jackson thinking? The fucking jerk will charge money for people to look at his brother's grave, WTF???
The whole family are lowlifes and assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous10:50:00 PM

Yes it was in Texas, the tornadoes seem to travel almost the same route all the time but we try to be prepared for them.
Our Governor is a crazy little bastard he really don't know what to do, everyone is blaming someone else.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous10:53:00 PM

[giggles] You know Randy/Jermaine has 2 kids each by the same woman(both boys) and she and her kids was the one that Katherine put outfor having the stun gun.
I will have to check to see if they are still on A&E.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I guess the whole population of Louisiana loves their fish and seafood according to Nana.So that must really hurt you guys. You will probably have to import fish and crustaceans from the Orient.Or maybe Canada. That is going to keep the prices up.
It must hurt the poor who fish for their own food.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous10:58:00 PM

I really don't know if Katherine should be raising MJ's kids, she didn't do a good job with her own kids and now she's to old to raise these...she didm't now what was going on in her own home, a stun gun....really.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, what is the story about them sharing this woman?? And how could she let herself be handed around like that?? She sounds like a skank. That must be their taste in women...Yechh

    ReplyDelete
  44. You are right about Katherine. She did not do an outstanding job on her kids and she did not protect Michael or Latoya from Beady. She is not a good choice to raise those kids but she is the best of a bad bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous11:02:00 PM

We on this end have a lot of lakes and yes if it swims we eat it.
Farmers fish market says they will get their from Canada because they are better and you know what you get is fresh.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous11:08:00 PM

I have tried to find out about her, sis says she remember when they got into a fight about her and she was still married to one of them.
Those kids was messed up from the start...they will never be normal and the Jackson family will always be there for a handout.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous11:12:00 PM

I don't think any of the boys married black women...I don't know if Latoya is still married to the same guy but he was white and he beat the shit out of her and she's had a lot of work done.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You must be so frustrated with the oil disaster because nothing helpful is being done.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous11:14:00 PM

My family is married to all kinds.
oh,oh, I forgot, no one has found them a chinaman yet, maybe because we don't have any here, if we do I haven't seen any...hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  50. Anonymous11:19:00 PM

I am very frustrated about whats takeig so long.
I am disappointed in Obama because it seems he's trying to please everyone.
Hell, just do what he has to do and get it over with because these coon-ass crackers not going to like him by no means because he's black and educated.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous11:21:00 PM

Maybe I'm wrong...but wasn't Obama elected to lead this country because he was capable of doing it and was the best we had.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous11:23:00 PM

Please tell me why in hell do other countries like him and not us...I'm not talking about China , they don't like anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree that a solution is taking far too long coming.I've got ideas about it and I bet thousands of people do. They won't listen to anyone without an engineering degree though.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yes Obama should have taken a bigger role in this. He got a team together to fix it but I don't think we have heard anything from them yet. Obama could have appealed to the scientists of the world to help. He could have kicked BP up the ass to move them. I think they have fallen down on the job.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous11:28:00 PM

That don't mean crap, just because you don't have a degree don't mean you don't know or have ideas.
I don't have a degree in designing clothes but people still ask s for ideas.
That's how a lot of great inventions was started with just an idea.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous11:32:00 PM

They could appeal to NASA, there are a lot of people out there but this is all about the money.
Obama may be a one term President.

I bet Nana know about some of those places here.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Chines men are okay to marry. They are fairly adaptable and they like all things American, even karaoke.Japanese men are more traditional and like their women to be submissive at all times. No good for American girls to marry.

American men however, love Japanes women. They pamper and wait on their men

    ReplyDelete
  58. Appealing to NASA is a fantastic idea. I wonder if Dr Rusty would have ideas. Look at all the brain power and engineers there. We should challenge them on the blog here . Maybe one of them would see it.

  60. Hi Lina. Got any ideas how to plug the oil pipe???

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous11:40:00 PM

Some people are saying it was something wrong in the beginning and it should be a charges filed against BP.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well they really need to cork that thing to at least stop the flow of oil. In terms of the stuff already in the water and along the coast, studies have shown things like peat moss is good at soaking it up and some bacteria actually eat it...

    Lina

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anonymous11:42:00 PM

Hi Lina...Of course we don't mind.

    ReplyDelete
  64. And BP? Safety failures, the higher ups in the company were accepting free gifts and all that...

If not criminal charges a nice class action lawsuit should be doable...

    Lina

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's true there are oil and plastic eating bacteria.

The existing slick is so huge now that the solution to cleaning up needs to be pretty radical and revolutionary. But first things first. They have to stop the spill foremost.

    ReplyDelete
  66. They need to plug it while they drill another well right beside it to take the pressure off the broken one.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Vis a vis class action lawsuit...OH YEAH!

    ReplyDelete

The family down from me is going to sue big time, it won't bring the husband/father back but will help take care of the kids.

    ReplyDelete
  72. This case really is a perfect one for a class action. Honestly, I am saddened to see how long it is taking all the while ecosystems are being destroyed.

I miss it sometimes, especially with the craziness of Hollyweird.

  80. Anonymous12:07:00 AM

How do we challenge them on the blog.
I think I will go down to the Mayor's office tomorrow and go to Obama blog I know the gov't should have one.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I love Alberta, except for the flat parts. And that takes up a lot of it....HA!

PIC: We can write a post appealing to the scientists and engineers at NASA to put their heads together. We know that one of them reads the blog. He can pass the challenge on.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Anonymous12:13:00 AM

Lina ...I was just about to ask where you from...and yes we do need you here.
You have family in Ca.?? How long you been with us???
Have any ideas you like to discuss just say so.

  83. Rusty Schweickart is one of the mission chairmen.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Anonymous12:17:00 AM

I like that and I bet Dr. Rusty will pass it on and maybe it will pisk up steam.
Hell Nasa put a man on the moon if they would ask his team I bet they would come up with an answer.
    It happened April 20th.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous12:23:00 AM

I wish Dr.Rusty had a comment page on his blog.
You know I can't write the challenge they would never know what I'm talking about. I might end up telling them about the choochie[giggles].

    ReplyDelete
  86. Why don't we each write an appeal and we'll put them together as one on the blog??It couldn't hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Lina, if you come up with an idea related to the oil tradgedy with merit, we'll put it on the blog with credit to you.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous12:28:00 AM

That sounds like a great idea.
Yes with Lina's background in chemistry it will be a great help if she would write something.
Now I will have to go see where to start and what to say.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think Rusty has come across a choochie or two in his time. But maybe he is so preoccupied with his work he never noticed them.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anonymous12:32:00 AM

    Maybe I need a job...

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anonymous12:35:00 AM

That's why he's so smart and good at his job, he's a one choochie man.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think we better close shop for now, otherwise you'll be a cranky old mommy tomorrow. I don't want to be responsible for your kids growing up in terror of you.

So I'll see you down at the marshes in the oil slick. You better wear your Welly boots.Maybe if we gathered enough maxi pads with wings we could soak it up.
Honestly it keeps me awake at night in frustration .

    ReplyDelete
  93. Sure thing girls :)
