Bear in a Bad Place

Check the bridge

This is the Rainbow Bridge on old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit, overlooking Donner Lake.
The bear was ambling across when he was startled into jumping over the side by two cars speeding across the bridge.
Somehow he managed to catch the ledge and hang on with his claws.

He managed to pull himself to safety. Authorities could not help him at that time; it was late on Saturday night when they arrived. They returned Sunday morning to find him sound asleep.

A net was suspended below the bear.

He was tranquilized and fell neatly into the net.

He was gently lowered to the ground.

He loped off without so much as a 'thankyou'.
*****************
Finding himself in an impossible situation, the bear went to sleep, so perhaps the moral is:
When you find yourself in a bad place, take a nap and things will resolve themselves.
