SUSAN BOYLE CATAPULTED TO FINALS OF BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT

Singing sensation Susan Boyle breeezed through to the finals of the television show,"Britain's Got Talent"after the audience on Sunday voted her semi-finals performance the best of the night.
Her performance of "Memory" from the musical "Cats"earned her a standing ovation and a spot in next saturday's finale. The forty seven year old Scot wiggled her hips and did a little jig when she heard the results.

During her audition she drew snickers from the crowd at her appearance and a bit of eye rolling and scowling from the judges during the brief interview before her song. However when she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from "Les Miserables"Cowell's eyes bugged out and he looked shocked , as did the other two judges.

Knowing that the audience was eagerly awaiting her semi finals performance, the producers of the show saved her till the end of the show. When the applause subsided the judges showered her with praise. Piers Morgan (one of the judges) said,"When the world was going through a pretty tough time and was looking for a bit of hope and inspiration, along came Susan Boyle to provide it. Simon Cowell called her "one special lady."

Susan has already appeared on the Larry King show and on Oprah Winfrey. The legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber is very interested in being part of her future.

    Hey Gals!

Cupcake I fully agree, you can never judge a book by its cover. What a shame that in this day and age that is what we seem to do alot of.

Then again maybe I am cynical because I live in Southern California and close to LA, where the entertainment industry is more interested in the outside package then what is inside. You can have a heart of gold and the voice of an angel but if you don't fit into their definition of "beautiful" then you are out of luck.

I noticed that when I first went to Manhattan Beach for a bit of a holiday. I am tall, curvy with brown hair and average looking, which is fine, I like me. But I stood out like a sore thumb there because the women there were all blonde and thin, very thin. They all almost looked the same to me. It was a weird feeling at first, almost creepy.

    Cheers!

Katherine,I am also tall, curvy, dark brown hair with green eyes...It's nice to know we wasn't made out the same mode..Did it ever occur to you they might have had a make-over under the knife..Haha..my man likes a little meat on the bones...something to hold on too..to me they looks sick ,need a good meal...they are making a lot of movies here .It's not where you live, but how you choose to live your life...when you go to the beach, struct your stuff...Jeannie is short/dark hair and a real knock-out...no skin and bones for us sweetie.(GIGGLES)

  4. Susan has refused a complete makeover(teeth, surgery etc). She doesn't want to lose her identity.Piers Morgan agrees with her.He thinks she is her own woman and she should stay that way.

Skinny women with big breasts are unnatural. Why is blonde so special?99% of them are brunettes anyway. The modern female image is all wrong, mass produced Barbies.

I hope neither one of you ladies change, just to conform.

  5. Hope you had a great night out Nee.It's nice to kick up your heels now and then, even though you are a mommy.Nan told me that you can't hold yor liquor though. One glass of wine and you're zonked...HA!

Katherine, you sound lovely to me.Don't change.Women like us have to bring about a change in the currnt image of perfection.I don't want my daughters forcing themselves into that mold.

Oh heck no Jeannie! I love the way I look and I can turn a male head or two. I am not interested in that whole mass market business of blondes have more fun...:)

Hollywood can have those women, I am my own woman with brains and gasp, a career! HEHE
