Octuplets: New details, a lot of questions and WHERE is Dad?

While more and more details about the mother of the octuplets emerge, people are getting more and more critical .
About the mother and her choices. About the doctors and about WHY an unwed mother of six would undergo a fertility treatment? (In Europe fertility treatments are only available to married couples, with NO children who unsuccesfully tried to conceive the natural way.)
*
....The mother of the octuplets born this week already has six other young children and refused the option of a selective abortion when told she was expecting multiple babies, it has emerged.
Instead the woman, who has not been publicly named, chose to go ahead and give birth, giving her a total haul of 14 children.
Today, as all the babies continued to make good progress in a Los Angeles hospital, it emerged that the mother’s existing six children were under the age of eight, including one set of twins.
The family live with both her and her parents in the well-kept suburb of Whittier, near Los Angeles

Don't need a dad....experiments in fertility drugs are big business for companies...a bunch of money for the mothers...Jeannie's baby I will take anytime,at least he has a family that's paying his bills, not on the taxpayers...the more babies ..more money/food-stamps...If the babies make it or not...that family will be taken care of...

  3. I doubt the money will be enough to fee al 14 kids. Besides, the 6 older children ought to have a father, no? I hear Grandpa is going to iraq to support the family.

I bet they are on all kinds of government assistance...thats the way our government works here in the U.S. instead of helping the people that really need it...you seen it for yourself, people picking up cans/sleeping in alleys/etc.wonder do she know how they are made...she was promised something in return...money from book deals/movies/etc.

  7. If you read the comments attached to various articles surrounding this case you'll notice that people are very critical.
I'm still mystified why a woman in her early thirties would want so many children. Even if they get public assistance it will never be enough. They say the family has declared bancruptcy several times. Besides, I think they are of ethnic origin. The mother didn't go to college. I doubt the kids will either.

I can't blame the people around them being critical...it's no excuse because she didn't go to college...you and I both know a lot of people that made something of themselves...the people like those give a lot of the athnic people a bad name.
I read the comments ...I agree with them 100%...

  10. Honestly, if I already had given birth to 6 children I would have my tubes tied. The woman is so very young.
I'm curious what other things about the family will come to light.

  14. She wanted her fifteen minutes of fame. She wanted the support of the community. She wanted government assistance. But mostly, she wanted her name in the papers.
If she didn't,she would have behaved in a more responsible way, knowing she had no means of supporting those babies. No means of taking care of them.

  15. You should have to prove you can support a baby, before you're allowed to have one.

  16. What I don't understand is - WHY the fertility treatment when she already has proven that she can have kids - even twins?

  19. Today they said ALL 14 kids where conceived through IVF. The 8 eggs were frozen and the mother didn't want them to get thrown away. So she asked the doctors to implant them ALL.
    Can you believe that?
